4 Common Problems of Conservatories and How to Fix It

Conservatories are beautiful. Yet to maintain its grandeur and beauty, they have to be taken care of. To help you maintain the beauty of your conservatory, you have to be aware of the common problems of conservatories.

Listed here are the four common problems of conservatories and their respective solutions. Read on to find out how you can prevent problem and making them happen.

Problem 1: Overheating is the cause of many other problems for conservatories. Overheating is the result of too much heat entering your conservatory yet isn’t able to get out because of the glazing system. This is also known as the greenhouse effect.

The Fix: To have this fixed, you can simply have external blinds, awnings installed or even reflective film coated on the roof of your conservatory. The important thing to remember when trying to prevent overheating is keeping the light out before it reaches inside. Avoid having internal blinds cannot help stop overheating because sunlight still gets inside your home.

Problem 2: Fading is a problem caused by heat and also UV sun exposure. It can affect the colour of your furniture as well as the other objects inside of your conservatory. Faded colours can make your conservatory look old and unpleasant.

The Fix: To prevent too much light and heat from damaging the things inside your conservatory, make sure you have some blinds or other shading systems installed. This should stop light from directly getting into contact with your furniture and other things. If you want a permanent solution, you can opt for solar film laminates.

Problem 3: Glare is a common problem among conservatories made with polycarbonate roofing. This is because of the internal reflections made by the lightly coloured decor, construction materials, and the channels.

The Fix: Thankfully, glare is one of the easiest problems to fix. You can adjust the brightness of your conservatory by solar film laminates or installing blinds. Solar film laminates are often chosen over blinds because they are unobtrusive and do not need any form of maintenance, including cleaning, dusting to remove dust.

Problem 4: Heat loss is a problem very common among many single glazed conservatories during the winter.  Because of this problem, many homeowners have to settle with condensation problems. This is a problem that has a pricey solution.

The Fix: Replacing all single glazed windows and roof with double or triple glazed units is the only answer to solving the heat loss of your conservatory. Although it may cost you, there are many companies offering discounted prices.
