What You Should and Shouldn't Have in Your Conservatory

What better way to enjoy the outdoors indoors than reading the news or having a cuppa in your conservatory? And what better way to do these than to have your best sofa or electric kettle there? Nothing can stop you from turning your conservatory into your own personal paradise but your conservatory itself. Some problems of conservatories can damage your furniture and appliances so you have to be particular of the things you use in your conservatory. Knowing what pieces of furniture shouldn't be in it and what appliances isn't practical to use in it will help you decide what you want and don't want in your conservatory.

Furniture

Cane or furniture made of wicker is best for conservatories used for different purposes because they're lightweight so they're easy to move. If you intend to use your conservatory as a secondary living room and you want it to stay that way for some time, then go with furniture made of synthetic rattan. "Synthetic" may not sound very tempting but this material is UV resistant, which means it won't fade from all the sunlight you're getting in your conservatory. Synthetic rattan also looks good with any decor and outdoors so you can bring them out of your conservatory when you feel like having your cup of tea in your garden.

Appliances

One advantage of using your conservatory as an extension of your dining room is that you can use appliances in it. The disadvantage of doing this is you risk turning your conservatory into an eyesore. The thing you have to consider the most is how you're going to put appliances in it without making it look unsightly or if you're even going to put appliances in it all. Most dwarf walls are only two to three feet tall, affecting the height of countertops you're going to need to put your appliances on. Wiring will also be very difficult to hide especially for conservatories with full-height glass walls.

Accessories

Adding a carpet to your conservatory will transform it into a cosy room especially during rainy days, cold nights, and winter. However, having your carpet in your conservatory will make it easier for sunlight to fade it so think twice before using your wool carpet to add warmth and style to your conservatory. Excessive heat in the summer can also cause your curtains to fade. Instead of curtains, try aluminum venetian blinds because they don't fade and can handle heat very well.

Choosing what goes and doesn't in your conservatory will highly depend on how you plan to it. Whatever you choose to do with it, be careful to use furniture and appliances that will contribute to a functional conservatory.
